Ambitions Christmas sale

Due to other local craft events being cancelled because of the snow, we held our Christmas sale on Saturday 11th December 2010.

We were delighted that it was well attended by so many local residents. It provided another occasion to talk about what we do and why we do it, as well as to raise funds.

Roberttown Victorian Christmas fair

We were invited to sell our wares at the Roberttown Victorian Christmas fair. We had a stall in Candy and Cologne which provided us with the opportunity to not only sell our work as well as our produce.

We were delighted with the number of people who took the time to find out about both.

Examiner Business Awards: Community Award for Ambitions4Kirklees

"IT'S ACE," said Liz Feeny and Bev Sissons, co-founders of Ambitions4Kirklees when they heard that their company, which provides help for people with learning difficulties, had won.

"We didn't expect this but we are delighted. We sank everything into our dream," said Liz.

That dream was to start a community interest company which would help young people with learning difficulties who had few options after completing full-time education.

"We feel vindicated that there is a need for what we do," they said. "The young people that we work with deserve this award."
